The Trevor Project Thank You Note

Hi Team BonePage Staff,

What an actionable Pride Month! First and foremost, I want to say thank you! You and over 24,000 fellow donors stepped forward in June to ensure The Trevor Project can remain a reliable resource for LGBTQ+ young people 24/7/365.

Your commitment embodies our “Pride in Action” theme. Just as we have done for 26 years, Trevor will always show up for our community, whether it is through legislative advocacy, providing training and resources to groups and organizations, or simply picking up the phone to be the one supportive adult who makes a difference in a young person’s future.
Team BonePage Staff, your generosity, support, and advocacy will certainly help amplify our work.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Troy Robinson

About The Trevor Project

The Trevor Project is a national organization dedicated to providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to LGBTQ+ youth. Its mission is to end suicide among LGBTQ+ young people by offering life-saving, life-affirming programs and services that create a safer, more inclusive world. The Trevor Project works tirelessly to promote understanding, acceptance, and hope through their 24/7 crisis hotline, text and chat services, and an array of educational resources. By advocating for policy changes, conducting research, and empowering young LGBTQ+ people to embrace their authentic selves, the organization helps reduce the stigma and isolation that often contribute to mental health challenges within this community.

LGBTQ+ Youth Mental Health & Suicide Risk

BonePage.com supports The Trevor Project. Will you please consider helping?LGBTQ+ youth face significantly higher rates of mental health challenges and suicide risk compared to their heterosexual peers. According to recent surveys, 39% of LGBTQ+ young people aged 13 to 24 seriously considered attempting suicide in the past year. More specifically, transgender and nonbinary youth are particularly vulnerable, with suicide attempt rates being 5.87 times higher than the general adolescent population.

About 66% of LGBTQ+ teens experience anxiety and 53% experience depression, often compounded by factors such as family rejection, bullying, and societal stigma. Despite these challenges, many LGBTQ+ youth struggle to access the mental health care they need, with half of those seeking care unable to obtain it due to various barriers such as fear of not being taken seriously or concerns about confidentiality.
